Our Story
From a single office in Shanghai to a global network
WayLine started in 2006 as a China-EU trade specialist. The founders saw that mid-sized importers and exporters were underserved by the big forwarding houses — too small for dedicated account teams, too complex for generic online platforms.
We built the business around those customers: responsive local teams who understood both the origin and destination markets, combined with the global network they needed as they grew. By 2012 we had opened offices in Singapore, Rotterdam, and Dubai. By 2018, we were in 40 countries.
Today, WayLine handles over 2.1 million shipments per year for 2,400+ enterprise clients. We've never lost the responsiveness that made us different at the start — every client has a dedicated local team, not a ticket queue.
